Design Story
The design of chewing gum packaging integrates functionality, hygiene, and sustainability. Its compact structure ensures portability and product protection, with a stronger emphasis on eco-friendly materials and the introduction of a key closed-loop experience:the package features a built-in sealed storage compartment specifically designed for temporarily storing chewed gum residue. This function cleverly resolves the awkwardness of having no proper disposal option after consumption, guides users toward devoleping environmentally friendly habits, prevents environmental pollution, and extends the product experience from consumption to“post-use management.”It reflects a deep understanding of user and societal needs while reinforcing the brand’s responsible image.
Highlights
This packaging features a dual-chamber design, with one chamber containing the product and the other serving as a recycling compartment for residual adhesive after use. This recycling compartment enables consumers to promptly collect residual adhesive, preventing improper disposal that could harm the environment or others.

Craft
The product adopts plastic injection molding technology for one-step forming, which is a mature process.
Does the design solve the problems that are common across the product category? If so, please explain.
The existing gum packaging lacks a dedicated residue recycling cavity, forcing users to discard used gum promptly in trash bins. Our new packaging design incorporates a built-in residue recycling chamber, enabling timely collection and disposal of used gum.
What functional designs of the work have enhanced the user experience?
The packaging design includes a built-in recycling cavity, allowing consumers to place residues after use into the cavity at any time. They can discard the contents collectively after finishing the product in portions, avoiding random disposal of leftover adhesive in the absence of trash bins, which could harm the environment or others.
