Mr. Chu Wah Hui is a seasoned executive with nearly 40 years of experience having worked in Chicago, Taipei, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Pittsburgh, London, Singapore and Shanghai; and covered several industries : consumer products (foods and beverages), household appliances, agricultural chemicals, pharmaceuticals and media (print, on-line and TV).

Mr. Chu is Founder of Innovative F&B Limited. and since November, 2014 he has also served as Honorary Chairman & Senior Advisor of Guangzhou-based Tangbridge Think Tank. Prior to his retirement from full time employment in January of 2014, Mr. Chu was Shanghai-based CEO of TAB - China’s largest beverage company with 2013 Revenue of US$6.3 billion. TAB has 2 operating units : Kang Shi Fu Beverages and Pepsi Bottling. Mr. Chu joined the Group in April, 2012 as Chairman of Pepsi Bottling. In January of 2013, he assumed the role of CEO of TAB. TAB bottles and markets brands that are number 1 (by market share) in most of China’s important beverage categories : ready-to-drink tea, bottled water, cola, fruit flavored carbonated soft drinks. Under Mr. Chu’s leadership, TAB reported strong double digit volume, revenue and profit growth in 2013.

In 2008 Mr. Chu joined the largest listed media company in Hong Kong, Next Media Limited as Group CEO until his early retirement 3 years later. Next Media’s titles include Hong Kong and Taiwan’s #1 daily newspaper (Apple Daily) and weekly news magazines (Sudden Weekly and Next Weekly, respectively). During this time, Next Media also launched Taiwan’s first ever IPTVwith a 24 hour news channel and several entertainment channels. It also produced and aired over 1,000 hours of original TV drama, variety shows and other entertainment programs in its first year.  

Before joining Next Media Limited, Mr. Chu was PepsiCo Investment (China) Limited’s Chairman and President of PepsiCo Beverages China from 1998 with responsibilities for mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Under Mr. Chu’s leadership, PepsiCo’s CSD market share in China doubled and Pepsi Cola became China’s #1 cola drink in 2005. During this period, PepsiCo China’s Revenue quadrupled, surpassed PepsiCo Mexico and became PepsiCo’s #1 market outside USA. Mr. Chu became PepsiCo Asia Region Non Executive Chairman in  2007 until his early retirement in 2008.

Before PepsiCo, Mr. Chu was President – Greater China & Korea of Monsanto Company between 1996 – 1998. Between 1994 – 1996, he was Corporate Vice President of Whirlpool Corporation with responsibilities initially for South East Asia, Australia, India, Korea and Japan; and later covering Greater China. Before that, Mr. Chu held various management positions at H.J. Heinz Company (based in Guangzhou, Pittsburgh and London) and the Quaker Oats Company (based in Chicago, Taipei and Hong Kong).

Since 2015, Mr. Chu has been a member of the Advisory Board of SIG Combibloc. He has been a member of the Board of Mettler Toledo International (a S&P 500 Index company traded at the New York Stock Exchange) since 2007. He previously served on the Boards of Li Ning Company (2007-2011) and Next Media Limited (2008-2011) - both traded in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He was a member of the China Advisory Board of the Minneapolis-based Best Buy Company (2003-2004) and Beijing-based office of the Arthur D. Little Company (2005-2006); and an advisor to the Zurich-based Barry Callebaut Company (2012). Mr. Chu was also awarded Honorary Professor by the MBA and Management Education Center of the Shanghai University in 2012. He was recognized as an Outstanding Chinese Alumni by the University of Minnesota in 2014.

Mr. Chu Wah Hui was born in Tai Shan, Guangdong, China and grew up in Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Minnesota (B. Sc.) and the Roosevelt University (MBA). He now resides in Hong Kong with his wife, Mora, a Pharmacist (University of Minnesota, 1975) by training.
