After graduated as a PhD student from Pharmacy & Pharmacology Department of the Bath University in England, Dr Zhang worked as a research officer in Wolfson Lab for about two years, then he moved back to China, joint a Korean based pharmaceutical company as a Chief Research Scientist. In that company, Dr Zhang led the development of several projects on diabetes and obesity, and from the projects, he learned the mechanism of these disease and how life-style could profoundly affect them. In 2013, Dr Zhang moved to Shenogen Pharma Group as a Executive Director, leading the preclinical studies of a anticancer project. During his tenure in Shenogen, Dr Zhang saw the use of nutrition in clinical settings and then triggered his idea to found his own company. In late 2015, Dr Zhang founded Heasltec innovation Co. Ltd with his own research lab and started to develop high nutrition density liquid products. Now the first brand “Betale” incubated from his lab is on the market, marketing sports nutritional drinks including Protein Water for consumers in China.
