Dr. Guo Xueping, winner of Second National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology， and winner Wujieping Paul – Janssen Medical Award, expert on special allowances by the National Council, young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Shandong, Chief Scientist of Bloomage Biotechnology Corp., Ltd.

Dr. Guo is the first person to research the production of Sodium Hyaluronate by fermentation in China from 1990. His work ended the history of hyaluronic acid production only by extraction from animal tissue, and started the new era of the fermentation production of Sodium Hyaluronate in China, with higher quality and productivity, larger scale, lower cost. Now Bloomage Biotechnology which Dr. Guo works for, is the largest manufacturer and supplier of Sodium Hyaluronate in the world. 

Based on the research of sodium hyaluronate, Dr. Guo successively took on more than ten national science and technology projects, such as the 8th and 9th Five-Year of the National Key Sci-Technologies Program, National Torch Program, etc. He also developed a series of hyaluronan products related to the fields of ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic surgery and wound care, including a national new drug, two active pharmaceutical ingredients, a pharmaceutical excipient, five medical device products. Among them, the cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel was the first domestic soft tissue filler approved by CFDA in China.
