Marking Awards 2019


Initiated by FBIF (Food & Beverage Innovation Forum), Marking Awards is a food and beverage packaging design contest organized in Shanghai since 2016 while targets the global. In a forum platform where attracts worldwide attention, Marking Awards was born to discover and praise brilliant F&B package designs, and encourage communication between local and global design power. In doing so, the awards committee aims to speed up F&B brands’ packaging innovation, package functional optimization and improve their aesthetics standards, thus finally all the stakeholders can build a creative packaging ecosystem together. During the two years of Marking Awards’ holding, it has received attention from World Packaging Organization (WPO), served as a bridge between brands and design agencies for over 30 times, contributed to traceable cooperation for 8 times, led to 3 new packages on market, trying every means to promote interaction between food and design.

Marking Awards believes that the design philosophies of brands can shape our future!

Entrant Description
Only if having wonderful package designs in accordance with Marking Awards requirements, we welcome brand owners, design agencies, advertisement agencies, packaging suppliers, and freelance designers to join in the competition.

Entry Categories
Entry categories for professionals include:
1. In-Market Entry
- An integrated package design for food or beverage which has been launched in the market
- Commercialized packaging structures, innovative functions or packaging materials, e.g. bottle cap, stand-up pouches, plant-based plastics, etc.

2. Conceptual Entry
- An integrated package design for food or beverage which has not been in the market, can be a brand-new product design or a conceptual design upgrade on a launched product in the market

* We have no limit in the food or beverage categories of entries. As long as it is the product people eat or drink in daily life (no matter if it is snacks, yogurt, drinks, or rice, noodles, grain, oil or meal replacement), we all welcome to join in Marking Awards. Together with you, we hope to recreate every detail of the food & beverage world in all aspects.

Judging Criteria
1. In-Market Entry
- Commerciality (exhibition and online display effects of your design, packaging-related sales data will be taken into consideration if offered)
- Communication (if brand culture can be directly and accurately conveyed by your design)
- Functionality (if your design is functional, how’s the user experience?)

2. Conceptual Entry
- Originality
- Foresight
- Design
All the entries will be judged from the six standards above, but they take different proportions according to different groups.
