Co-Founder
Dal Cuore

Singapore-born Gerard Low graduated with a Master’s degree in Commerce, Banking and Finance from the University of New South Wales, in Sydney Australia. He attended the famed Penn State University Ice Cream Short Course in the US, and trained under Gambero Rosso Tre-Coni gelato Maestro Manuele Presenti in Italy.

In 2018, Gerard opened gelateria “Dal Cuore” with his wife Lisa Yang, to bring the taste of their travels to Shanghai. “Dal Cuore” means “from the heart” in Italian, and this sentiment is reflected in the passion and dedication the brand puts into crafting each and every scoop of gelato. Dal Cuore’s signature flavours include “OATLY Earth”, developed for the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, Shanghai Scallion Noodle, and Pineapple Sichuan Pepper. The multiple award winning gelateria captured the hearts of many and was ranked 14th among Asia’s 50 Best Ice Cream Parlours in 2019 by Big 7 Media. In 2021, Gerard was appointed China brand ambassador for Iceteam 1927, a commercial division for high-end Italian gelato equipment. Gerard also appeared as guest on the “Day Day Up” variety show by Hunan Television in 2022, to share about gelato. In the same year, Dal Cuore was named by Bottega Veneta as one of fourteen “Bottegas” outside Italy, with products inspired by Italian culture.
